The Truth About Online Shopping

As the winter season approaches students are hitting the malls in order to show off the newest seasonal clothing, from hats, scarf’s boots or just about anything else that would keep you cozy for early upcoming winter season, all of which can be purchased at your local shopping center. However more youth are starting to do online shopping through the ever popular “ebay”, as suppliers and sellers offer a wider selection of clothing for a significantly lower price. However terms like unreleased, variant and custom all generally mean the item purchased is a fake. Many buyers fall for fake product scheme as they are immediately captivated by the low price of the item, thinking there saving a lot of money buying online. Nevertheless, fakes aren’t always as noticeable discounted as the authentic product, as ebay does neither monitor nor report fakes items this makes it even more difficult to spot a real from a fake. Don’t be afraid to ask questions as to why the supplier is selling the item or if they have a receipt that they purchased the product. If they claim they get it from a distributor from Hong Kong, your product is likely to be counterfeit as there are no distribution rights or copy right laws in China. Furthermore, go to the trouble of checking the authentic item first, look at the packaging and tags that are associated with the product. If you are planning to buy in bulk look for a distributor that has a registered store, that way the items he receives are from a verified source such as Nike Inc. Beware as ebay is not the only place to purchase fakes, there are many websites that sell low quality counterfeit products and claim they are authentic. Also sending money via money order is an unsafe, once the money is received there is no need for the buyer to send you there product. However there are safe means of money transferring and doing online shopping, companies such as PayPal will not verify non registered companies. There are great ways to buy stuff online and save a lot of money, and not everyone online is looking for a way to steal your money, just the select few. However it doesn’t hurt to protect yourself and be educated before you start online shopping.
